QUICK PATH

Before making changes, identify the device, player, connection type, and exact symptom. One controlled test at a time produces a useful answer.

01

Measure the connection at the screen

A speed test beside the router does not describe conditions behind the television. Test on the streaming device, or at the same location and Wi-Fi band. Repeat at different times and observe consistency, latency, and packet loss—not only the highest download figure.

4K streams can vary substantially in bitrate. Leave capacity for protocol overhead and other household activity. If performance drops only in busy evening periods, compare Ethernet and contact your internet provider with repeatable measurements.

Practical checklist

  • Test at device location
  • Repeat during peak hours
  • Compare wired and wireless
  • Check other household traffic
02

Build a clean local network

Ethernet removes most Wi-Fi variables. For wireless devices, 5 GHz offers more capacity at shorter range, while 2.4 GHz travels farther but is often crowded. Position the router openly, choose a clear channel, and avoid stacking it beside cordless bases or metal cabinets.

Mesh systems need strong links between nodes. Adding a node inside a dead zone repeats a poor signal. Place it midway toward the television, or use wired backhaul. Rebooting may temporarily help, but consistent problems require better placement or capacity.

03

Check device and player limits

Older smart televisions may support a 4K panel but struggle with modern codecs or high-bitrate playback. Keep firmware and player apps current, ensure ventilation, and use the original power supply. Heat or limited memory can cause symptoms that resemble a slow network.

Set resolution and frame-rate matching to automatic where available. Test the player’s native decoder before changing advanced options. Make one adjustment at a time and record the result, otherwise you cannot identify which change helped.

04

Use a structured fallback

Compare several 4K items, then a lower-resolution option. If one item fails while others are stable, report that specific source. If all high-bitrate media fail but HD works, focus on network capacity or decoding. If every resolution fails, verify the account and player configuration.

Stable HD is usually preferable to unstable 4K. The broader installation guide includes platform-specific steps. If you contact support, provide device model, connection type, measured results, player version, and examples without sharing credentials.
